About the Kings Head
History of the Kings Head Whiteparish
The Kings Head is situated right in the middle of the beautiful village of Whiteparish, on the edge of the New Forest.
It is a contemporary gastro-pub nestled within a 16th Century Grade 2 listed building, that was once owned by the old Strong’s Brewery. It has been an Inn since 1786, and has been at the heart of the village for many years.
Having been closed for almost 4 years, and in a poor state of repair, The Kings Head was purchased by private investors in the summer of 2017. They quickly embarked upon an ambitious plan to renovate and extend the Kings Head, with the aim to make it a destination pub with food at the centre of the offering, whilst also offering luxury accommodation.
Shaun and Patricia have an active role in the running of the Kings Head, whilst empowering their management.
A message from our Chef Patron, Matthew Tomkinson
“I’ve had an amazing decade at the Montagu Arms in Beaulieu, but I’m thrilled to be moving in to the brand new position of Chef Patron at The Kings Head. It’s such an exciting prospect to take this next step in my career – one in which I’ll be personally involved in shaping the direction of business.
“I’ve known for some time that I wanted my next role to be in a more intimate, less formal setting. To have found this opportunity right on my doorstep – here on the edge of the New Forest – has been incredibly fortuitous.
Using only the best locally sourced produce from the New Forest, Hampshire and Wiltshire , it is our aim to provide our customers with a memorable eating and drinking experience in a lovely comfortable environment.
